Examples of Different Kitchen Valances

Dressing any window in the home with blinds, curtains, drapes, nets and valances can be a very expensive exercise. Or example you will need to have the proper balance and color scheme to complement your existing furniture, bed coverings and overall color of your walls and carpet. It is therefore important to carefully plan from the outset what type of fabric you want to use, what color and most importantly how your choice will affect the ambience and practicality of your home.

If you are for example looking at the bedroom window dressings you will need to ensure the fabric is heavy enough to block the early morning sun’s rays while you are sleeping and also to insulate your room from the cold during a cold winter’s night.

In contrast, a window valance only partially covers the top third of the window it is fitted to so will not have the same properties required of window dressings in other parts of the house. The kitchen valance however can look stunning when mixed with different fabric texture combinations such as satin valances with a nice light lace curtain or chenille curtains with silk valances.

By mixing and matching different colors and print fabrics you can create an unusual and stunning look for your kitchen window that will look different to the common window treatments you will find elsewhere. Also by using different shades of the same color or fabric you are able to create a unique look that looks very eye-catching.

Today, consumers are spoilt for choice when it comes to selecting fashionable valance curtains for the home that are designed to look fabulous. For example there are available beautiful gingham, plaid, floral country and stripe prints and stylish valance curtains such as ruffled, tailored, balloon, tapestry, scarf and tie up designs that will suit most styles and tastes.
